What TrustDate does — and doesn't — collect.

The short version, in plain English: TrustDate runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your dating-profile photos, the profiles you view, the profiles you add to your watchlist, or any record of how you use the extension. We have no servers that receive your data. We do not know you have installed TrustDate.

1. What we don't collect

To be specific, TrustDate does not collect, transmit, or store:

The profiles you view on Match, OurTime, eHarmony, OkCupid, or Silver Singles
The photos on those profiles
Any text from those profiles, including bios and messages
Your reverse-image search results
Profiles you add to your local watchlist
Review history you build up over time
Your identity, your dating-app accounts, or any account information
Analytics, telemetry, error reports, or usage statistics
Anything about you, your habits, your relationships, or your activity

We do not have servers that receive any of the above. We could not retrieve this information about you even if we wanted to, because it never leaves your computer.

2. What is stored — locally, on your device

The extension stores the following in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local), readable only by the extension itself on your specific device:

Photo fingerprints (perceptual hashes) — 64-bit hashes (16 hex characters) of dating profile photos you encounter. These are mathematical fingerprints, not images. The original image cannot be reconstructed from a hash.
Profile metadata — display names, ages, and locations as shown on profiles you view, alongside their fingerprints, so we can show you "this photo has been seen before" when relevant.
Review history — which reverse-image search engines you clicked, when, on which photos, for your own reference.
Local watchlist — photo fingerprints of profiles you have explicitly added to your watchlist. These let the extension surface the same photos if they appear on other profiles in the future.
Settings — which checks you have enabled, your panel position, your threshold configuration.

All of this stays on your computer. Uninstalling the extension removes it.

3. Reverse-image search

When you click the Yandex, Google Lens, or Bing Visual Search buttons in the extension, that photo's URL is sent to those third-party services as part of the reverse-image search request. We do not control how those services use the photos you submit to them. Their respective privacy policies apply:

Each reverse-image search runs only when you explicitly click the engine's button. TrustDate does not run reverse-image searches automatically.

4. What the dating sites see

Dating sites you visit (Match.com, OurTime, eHarmony, OkCupid, Silver Singles) see your normal browsing activity as they always would. TrustDate does not change what these sites can observe. The extension reads the DOM (the visible profile content) on those pages to extract names, bios, and photos for local analysis, but does not transmit anything to TrustDate, Alice Ventures, or any third party as a result.

5. Premium features (when available)

TrustDate may, in the future, offer optional premium features that require an account — for example, syncing your local watchlist across your devices. When and if those features ship:

They will be clearly opt-in and require explicit account creation.
Photo fingerprints (hashes) — never images — would be transmitted to our servers for synchronization to your other devices.
This Privacy Policy will be updated to describe exactly what is stored, where, and for how long, before any premium feature is enabled.

Until then, no account exists. No premium tier is active. Nothing about you is on our servers because we have no servers receiving anything.

6. Children

TrustDate is not directed at children under 18. It is a tool for adults using adult dating services. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change the way TrustDate handles your data — including adding premium features that require account creation — we will update this Privacy Policy and post the effective date. Material changes will be announced through the extension itself.
